About us

Registrations for the pilot round of Mentoring@CERN will begin in April 2024 and the programme is the result of a merger between the WIT and LHC Early Career Mentoring programmes.

But how did this merge happen?

The WIT mentoring programme began in 2018, with the aim of matching mentor-mentee pairs and with a particular emphasis on female mentees. It has completed its 6th round and has hosted 130 mentor-mentee pairs since its inception.

The LHC Early Career Mentoring Programme began 2 years later, matching mentors and mentees working on either the same or different LHC experiments. The programme is currently in its third round and has taken on a total of 96 mentees and 76 mentors since 2020.

Organisers from both programmes were invited to present at the D.E.A.L. masterclass for HR professionals at CERN in November 2022. They later began discussions to collaborate by merging the two programmes. They are now combining forces to share their expertise to meet the common goal of providing mentorship to those with an affiliation to CERN!
