An interesting possible detection mechanism for observing ultra high energy neutrinos is that of acoustic detection. The speaker will introduce this technique and review the current status of research activities in this field across Europe, the US and Russia.

We report new results on experiments searching for cosmic neutrino fluxes, including the Antarctic Impulsive Transient Antenna (ANITA) experiment, which completed a 36-day flight of a long-duration balloon payload, in Dec. 2006 - Jan. 2007.
