The cost of the School will be about 1500 CHF per student, and will cover tuition, board and lodging from dinner on Wednesday 30 April to breakfast on Tuesday 13 May as well as coffee, tea or cold drinks during the morning and afternoon breaks, in addition to some social activities. The fee does not include travel expenses from participants' home institutes to San Jose and back, visa fees (where required), or the cost of insurance covering illness and accidents that is required for all participants.
Thanks to support from funding bodies in Costa Rica, in addition to CERN and CIEMAT, it will be possible to fully or partly cover the school fees and/or travel expenses for some of the Latin-American students who otherwise would not be able to attend the School. However, since the central funds are limited, we hope and expect that the majority of the institutes will be able to cover fully, or at least partially, the expenses of their students.
Students who are not from Latin America are normally expected to have the school fees and travel cost covered fully by their institutes, although exceptions could be made for well-motivated cases from developing countries outside of Latin America.
At the same time, funded students will be informed of the procedures to be followed for making travel arrangements and applying for visas (where required).
