      Minutes and Matters Arising
      • a) Outcome of the LHCC and the OB
        Speaker: Simone Campana (CERN)

        ### LHCC meeting outcome

        • The LHCC congratulates WLCG and the experiments on the successful and efficient software and computing operations, ensuring smooth data taking.
        • The LHCC commends the Scikit-HEP project on its recent inclusion in the Scientific Python Ecosystem Coordination (SPEC) Core projects and encourages the HSF to continue strengthening their engagement with the broader Scientific Python community and integration of their training into HSF programs. The LHCC acknowledges the challenges in implementing the new HSF-affiliated projects, and recommends a prompt revision of this strategy.
        • The LHCC commends the progress in exploring and adopting heterogeneous resources, especially GPUs in online systems, and encourages further R&D into GPU-based workflows, including cost-benefit analyses and the potential need for pledged resources.
        • The LHCC notes a rapidly growing trend in the adoption of AI/ML technologies and urges experiments to address shared challenges and assess infrastructure needs.
        • The LHCC praises the success of the recent WLCG/HSF workshop and supports the launch of the Sustainability Forum. The LHCC also welcomes the efforts to resolve scalability issues identified in DC24, especially through incremental mini-Data Challenges, and endorses the initiative to revise the resource planning and provisioning model in preparation for Run 4.
        • The LHCC commends the WLCG for the open and inclusive development of its technical roadmap, and strongly recommends establishing an iterative process for capturing and updating experiment requirements, In addition, the LHCC emphasises the need for adequately skilled personnel to implement the roadmap, and expects to receive regular updates on the roadmap’s progress, including milestones and identified gaps, in future meetings.

The DRAFT charge for the review of the experiment specific parameters in November is attached. Comments to lcg.office@cern.ch before June 30th

The DRAFT report from the review of the Analysis Infrastructures held at the March 2025 LHCC is attached. FACTUAL corrections  for the consideration of the LHCC should be annotated here [1] before June 20

        ### WLCG Overview Board outcome

Official Minutes will be circulated soon

        • New T1 proposals: Romania (ALICE) and Poland (CMS). Both well received. Some open points will be followed up in the experiment commissioning campaigns in the next 6 months. The MB should follow that commissioning. Propose an ALICE and a CMS presentation with a plan at the next MB
        • The Serbian WLCG colleagues are ready to start the procurement and installation phase for a CMS T1.
        • The initiative to start defining the resource model for HL-LHC will be launched in the next months, as discussed at the last Collaboration Board. The WLCG management will form a small team of people for an initial analysis. The progress will be reported regularly at the OB
        • The expected yearly cost reductions of the hardware for the purpose of the  HL-LHC computing planning were agreed: 10% for CPUs, 5% for DISK and 10% for TAPE. With a +/- 5% error bar for each. Note: this is slightly different from what discussed at the previous MB (the figure for tape is a bit lower)
        • The LHC parameters for HL-LHC were discussed with the HL-LHC coordination team and the LPC. They will be finalised in early July.

      • b) Future events: WLCG 20th anniversary (8 Dec), WLCG workshop (spring 2026)
        Speaker: Simone Campana (CERN)

        ### WLCG 20th anniversary at CERN on Monday the 8th of December 2025.

Planning for a seminar-type event at the Globe. Pre-registration(*) is now open. Apply here

(*) Due to limited seating, a pre-registration process is in place. We will do our best to ensure a balanced representation from past and present Collaboration members.

Workshop on “Heterogeneous Architectures in WLCG”, 3-5 Dec 2025 (CERN) Placeholder

We need to start thinking about the structure of the workshop and appoint a few volunteers to lead the scientific organisation of the event.

        ### WLCG/(HSF) workshop 2026

We are looking for a location. Please email lcg.office AT cern.ch if you are interested in organising the event. Aim at identifying a location before the end of summer.

We agreed to NOT have a WLCG workshop before CHEP  (makes the event rather long and allows only for very topical discussions). HSF might take the opportunity to organise some focused event (training, etc ...)
