Transportation

Krakow has great and cheap public transportation, including trains, trams, and buses that span the airport (KRK), the institute (Bronowice station), and the city center (Główny).

For taking a taxi or train from the airport:
- 1-way train ride from the airport is 20 PLN (~5 EUR)
- Uber/Bolt to IFJ / QHotel / Crown is 35-65 PLN (8-15 EUR)
- Taxi from tax stand is 100+ PLN (20+ EUR)
- In Krakow, all ubers/bolts drivers must be licensed taxi drivers. 100 PLN is just profiteering.

For transportation within the city:

  • Bus/tram/train:
You can buy transportation passes (20 min for 4 pln , 60 min for 6 pln) for buses/trams from many bus/tram stops, on newer trams/buses, or with mobile banking apps. Paper and electronic tickets must be validated on the bus/tram. Electronic tickets require a code (XX-000) that can be found on the vehicle.

Train tickets can be purchased from kiosks on train platforms and on newer trains (see Kiosk page for more helpful tips).

For trains, trams, and buses, check Google maps (it is reliable in Krakow!)

One-way train tickets (20 pln) can be purchased from kiosks on the platform or inside the train (recommened)
