Activities in Krakow

For everyone who is staying in Kraków before or after the meeting and looking for some inspiration, here are a couple of suggestions:

  • Overview of attractions: https://krakow.travel/
Further information about some of Kraków's museums: https://muzeumkrakowa.pl/en and  https://muzeumkrakowa.pl/en/branches
  • Wawel Castle https://wawel.krakow.pl/en
    Tickets: https://bilety.wawel.krakow.pl/repertoire/2025-04-30/date.html
Once the royal castle was, and for a time, the place where Polish monarchs were crowned. Has a range of different museums, from art to architecture and the history and archaeology of the castle. Don't miss the fire-breathing statue at the foot of the castle on the bank of the Vistula River.
  • The Sukiennice, or cloth hall, on the Main Market Square (Rynek Główny) is the centre of Krakow Main market square, one of the largest market squares in Europe. The upper floor has an art gallery of the National Museum, underneath is a museum with archaeological findings from previous iterations of the market square and market halls.
  • St Mary's Basilica on the main market square https://mariacki.com/en/
The tower and the interior have separate tickets. If you visit the tower, choose a time so you are up at the full hour when the "Hejnal" is playing. The interior has a three-part altar piece that is opened every day to show the exterior and the interior.
  • Franciscan Church, ul. Franciszkańska 2
Church in the Planty Park surrounding the inner city. Amazing stained glass windows designed by the famous Polish artist Wyspianski and floral murals.
  • Kościuszko Mound, al. Waszyngtona 1 30-204 Kraków

Kościuszko is a national hero who was also involved in world politics, both in Europe and the American Independence. The Mound is accessible via the museum, and has a great view over Krakow.
