Downtown Berkeley:
Parking space is extremely limited at LBNL. We recommend you to stay near the Downtown Berkeley Bart Station, and take the lab shuttle to commute between downtown and the lab.
There are many hotel options e.g. Residence Inn and Hotel Shattuck Plaza. A Berkeley Lab discount (ranging from the government rate of 145USD/night without tax, and up) is available for downtown hotels, pending availabilities. You will receive booking instructions after your registration has been approved.
Please don't hesitate to reach out to the local orgainzers if you have concerns on transportation or safety.
Note: Hotels can fill up quickly due to the commencement day (Monday, May 19th) at UC Berkeley. Please reserve your travel at your earliest convenience.
LBNL (on the hill):
Onsite lodging (need gate access) is available at LBNL guest house at 139 USD/night (one queen bed) and 149 USD/night (two queen beds) from May 11 to May 16. You will receive booking instructions after your registration has been approved.
Note: the lab's cafeteria is under renovation. Limited breakfast and lunch options onsite are provided by food trucks. You will need to take shuttle to downtown Berkeley for dinner.
The Blue Route Shuttle operates on weekdays between 6:15am to 8:45pm (last departure from Downtown Berkeley). You can also take taxi/uber and pass the gate with valid site access documents.
