- General update on modelling status by Jose (Ariel)
- 2D and 3D magnetid done by Ariel. Info transferred to Emmanuele.
- Jose will start working in the mechanical 2D & 3D this week.
- General update on mocl-up status by Jose (Nicholas Lusa)
- Deailed drawings on-going
- Material ordered
- Heat treatment will be applied to the part (under vaccuum, EN-MME) before the final machining.
- Update on engineering design by N. Peray:
- Finished all tooling drawings for cable manufacturing. Order launched.
- We need to decide on the geometry of the midplane part in between coils. Do we want a pole that protrudes w.r.t. the coil? Or we prefer something aligned?
- The proposed layer jump geometry gives a minimum thickness of 1.4 mm in the Ti pole (local). We will try to increase it.
- For RHT, the proposal is to react the "leaking" mold into a leak-tight retort. We need to review MQXFB experience and make a proposal to improve argon flow in the mold
- Force flow in the retort
- Force flow in the mold (multipoint)
- For impregnation, we found interesting the idea of impregnating the coil with the wedge and top pad (same logic for the pad than for the wedge).
- This ensures a good contact in the flared ends
- It would be nice to engineer a solution on which (if needed) the coil could be separated.
- Needs to be compatible with an ESC coil, for example

Ariel could ot attend. Below his message:
Bonjour Juan,
Je ne pourrais pas rejoindre la réunion depuis Berkeley. Voici un récapitulatif des mes activit'es sur le design de Bond 40
- 2d and 3d magnetic designs are done and updated in the server with their summary notes
- Reference file is up to date
- The new cross section was sent to Jose for mechanical, Elena for Opera, Nicolas for CAD and Emmanuele for ESC simulation
- 2d mechanical of double aperture is on updating progress. (I would like to present my results on this as I am facing some dead ends)
Merci
Ariel
