Subjects:

  • Splitting of quad vacuum chambers in periods 3, 4, 10, 13 and 15
      • https://trackit.cern.ch/track/121267
      • ACTIONS:
        • The 10.2 mm OG gap is not a standard configuration. However, since the same configuration for periods 3, 4, 10, and 13 is already installed in period 5, the same procedure will be followed for the as-installed version.

        • The Phase PUs must be removed in order to validate the proposal. Nevertheless, the test is planned for June or July, which is quite late for VSC, as they need to approve the integration, mechanical models, and ECRs. This schedule is very tight and challenging for them.
        • The installation process for the proposal will follow the same approach used in period 5, using two cranes simultaneously.
        • The bumpers (BSW) will be refurbished and modified on a like-for-like basis, so they will be removed during the stop in any case.
        • The covers must be modified to allow enough space for the clamps. This should not be an issue.
        • There appears to be no major problem with moving the bumpers upstream, but confirmation is needed from Gian-Piero Di Giovanni.

  • Update - BTY Modifications:
    • BTY 2GeV Project
      • https://trackit.cern.ch/track/112553
      • ACTIONS:
        • To avoid interference within the angle range from 9.652 to 10.16, two feasible proposals have been identified:
          • Option 1: Modify a small section of the SEM Grid tank, which would eliminate the clash for the proposed angles.
          • Option 2 (Preferred): Reduce the aperture of the chamber in the area that interferes with the SEM Grid.
        • A discussion with M. Fraser is needed to evaluate both options and confirm the preferred solution.
    • Beam stoppers upgrade and replacement in BTY line
    • BTV consolidation on the BTY line
      • https://trackit.cern.ch/track/124089
      • ACTIONS:
        • Integration study:
          • Option 1: Modification of the current length of the new BTVs.
          • Option 2: Modification of the chambers surrounding the BTVs.
        • As discussed, the integration study will focus on the vertical arrangement of the new BTVs, as this does not appear to present any major issues.
    • Preventive replacement of 6 BTY line quadrupoles (Q130)
      • ACTIONS:
        • The Q130 will be a like-for-like replacement.
        • The preventive replacements, where the quadrupoles are modified (Q100), will be carried out on the last two quadrupoles on the ISOLDE side.
        • The solution for these quadrupoles is the same as the one used for the AD target quadrupoles, which are new models that are slightly shorter but wider.
        • For this new study, VSC would like to modify the chambers around the quadrupoles to allow for independent movement, ideally by adapting the flanges and bellows if possible.
    • Fire Compartment Integration
      • https://trackit.cern.ch/track/111889
      • ACTIONS:
        • The proposed solution to the right of the shaft seems the most feasible.
        • An integration study will focus on:
          • The first solution to the right of the shaft.
          • A full compartment involving a complete wall opening.
        • These proposals should be discussed with F. Corsanego.
        • No BTY element should be positioned underneath the shaft.
    • Smoke barrier Integration:
      • ACTIONS:
        • To be discussed with F. Corsanego.
        • The usefulness of the smoke barrier is questionable once the fire door or fire compartment is installed.
        • Its installation may also create issues for cable pulling operations by EN-EL and represents an obstacle for HE activities.
    • Survey line of sight between BTY and ISOLDE zone:

  • New removable support brackets in the PS tunnel:
      • ACTIONS:
        • There is a proposal to install an on-site piece to reserve the space, as stickers may not be sufficient.
        • There are no issues foreseen with transport, since the pieces are detachable.

  • FTA & FTN - Upgrade of beam stoppers:
      • https://trackit.cern.ch/track/121993
      • ACTIONS:
        • FTN:
          • Consolidation project led by SY-STI.
          • Replacement of the existing STPs with new models already used elsewhere in the complex.
          • Clash detected with concrete blocks – removal of the volume is required.
          • No further visible interferences identified.
        • FTA:
          • HE integration is challenging – further discussions are required.
          • Transitions with VSC and the chambers might require modifications.
          • The design of the metal structure must be adapted to accommodate and transport the new beam stoppers.
          • The proposed solution has already been tested.
          • A discussion with RP is needed to confirm whether certain concrete blocks can be removed.
          • Supplementary cabling will be required.

  • Update - 355-359-369 Tuning Power Converters:
      • ACTIONS:
        • Confirmation from EN-CV is needed regarding the water refrigeration.
        • An on-site visit to building 355 is scheduled for Monday 14th to assess the condition of the false floor.
        • A visit to building 365 is also required to check the situation of the cable trays below the installation site.
