The determination of the strong coupling constant from event-shape observables remains a central topic in precision QCD.
Among these observables, thrust has long played a central role: it is comparatively simple, well studied, and continues to serve as a benchmark for precision determinations of the strong coupling constant.
This dedicated workshop is intended as the first in a series of focused meetings aimed at addressing the key open questions in α_s determinations from thrust.
This November meeting will focus on the following aspects:
-
Impact of the choice of resummation space
 -
Data systematic uncertainties and the recent ALEPH data reanalysis
 -
Hadron mass effects and mass schemes
 -
Impact of 3-jet power corrections

The workshop’s format will consist of short technical introductions followed by extended time for discussion.
The emphasis is on interaction and collaborative problem-solving rather than on formal presentations.
