Description
Study of Flavour quantum numbers in elementary particle physics had
successfully revealed the structure of the Standard Model indirectly,
before the direct discoveries were made; such as charm, beauty and
top quarks and GIM mechanism and Kobayashi-Masukawa phase and CP
violation. At LHC, physics beyond the Standard Model will be studied
directly by searching for new particles produced at the highest
energy machine. Flavour physics will also enter a new phase to look
for evidence of physics beyond the Standard Model through precision
studies of rare phenomena. The latter will give complimentary
information necessary to obtain the complete picture of new physics
which we all hope to see very soon. In this talk, after reviewing
historical development, we explore the role of Flavour Physics
experiment in this LHC era.
