Summary of meeting on May 6, 2026

  1. Grant of rights form
    1. We suggest that working group conveners check with their co-authors. If any has not yet responded to the grant of rights request, please encourage them to do so by May 15.
    2. The advisory committee members are also authors of the report; we request that they too respond to the grant of rights request.
  2. There are 2 ways to respond to the grant of right requests
    1. By explicitly signing the form as instructed.
    2. Or sending in writing a statement that one has not contributed text or image to the report.
  3. Feedback on the report. We received feedback on about a third of the report so far
    1. UNESCO can only accept official maps from the UN. 
    2. To focus on the scientific message of the report, we agreed to remove all African maps with country borders.
    3. For specific comments, the concerned authors may be contacted.
  4. Budget, timelines and implementation plans
    1. We heard from Luca on the Compact Light Source and Benard on the Young Physicists Forum.
    2. At the next meeting, we will hear from others who added budget and timeline to their chapters.
    3. When have finished hearing all the proposed scenarios, we may start discussing implementation strategies.
  5. Our next meeting will be on June 10.
