The weekly meeting of the Software Process and Infrastructure project of the LCG/AA.

------------------------------------------------------------------------- Yves Perrin + Actions done and progress - created several Atlas HN forums and helped users with registration/lost passwords. - continued working with Stefan on migrating SPI web pages to twiki (difficulties encountered to adapt Andreas python scripts ... permissions & move of appropriate environment) - fixed a bug related to hyperlinks in the savannah markup language - investigating the use of templates in twiki (powerful but complex and badly documented) aiming at inserting some code to get hit statistics via Google - savannah was poluted by a spammer who registered as a user and posted a dozen of junk comments. I deleted both the inserted crap and the spammer account. - working with Stefan on creating forums on the new HN server (lcgapp02) and reactivating the Savannah rejected notification handling + Next actions - complete the migration of SPI web pages to the twiki ------------------------------------------------------------------------- Piotr Kolet + Actions done - BuffLogging - allows to cache logging records and to flush them when user asked about this. - Very useful with threading programimg. - Testing concurrent build options - continuation - trying the new scripts on lxbuild021 - No major problems found. + Next actions - add new-style logging to all scrips (build and install scripts still use old "print like" logging) - put new version of scripts into production. - merge nightlies build with Stefan's generig configuration pyLCG. This will remove hardcoded paths from the files. - + Problems - it seems that "cmt broadcast make" is the best way of building projects. tbroadcast and make -j don't work perfec in all cases. The threaded version of nightlies builds needs to be tried. ------------------------------------------------------------------------- Stefan Roiser + Actions done - LCG 52 released - it contains bug fixes for POOL and CORAL and oracle 10.2.0.3 - LCGCMT - interface packages for new Grid installation created - currently tested by LHCb - external s/w - installation of gcc 4.0.1 in the contrib area for slc4 32/64 - python 2.5 for all LCG platforms installed - a few interactions with Alfredo Ferrari concerning fluka installation - nightly builds - hickup in ROOT - Module.mk remove in roofit, restored by Fons - interaction with IT concerning our request for a new lxbuild node - slot for Gaudi pre-release changed for v19r4 - Hypernews - local users / groups installed with FIO - dynamic DNS requested for the new instances \ - simba list for lcgaa admin created (hn-lcgaa-admin@cern.ch) - sys admin stuff - two new simba lists created for root mails from lcgapp01 / lcgapp02/03 project-peb-spi-sav-sysadmins@cern.ch and project-peb-spi-hn-sysadmins@cern.ch + Next actions - Completion of Hypernews setup (DNS entry with IT, passwd changes, permissions problem) - Nightly builds for windows are almost complete, the logfile copying does not work in all cases yet - New LCG configuration 52a in preparation, this will include a new ROOT release fixing a problem with linking to a local version of libssl in Globus - Add new configurations to the new LCGCMT distribution system + Problems -
