Description
Starting from a basic 120 W building block covering the frequency range 0.1-80 MHz, amplifiers with power levels ranging from 1 kW to 9 kW have been designed at CERN for LEIR and J-PARK Rapid Cycling Synchrotron and Main Ring RF systems.
About 1000 basic 120 W modules have been built and are now in operation. The design options, splitting and combining techniques, powering, cooling and servicing choices will be discussed. A short discussion will also be dedicated to ultra-wideband couplers/splitters.
