The weekly meeting of the Software Process and Infrastructure project of the LCG/AA.

Yves Perrin + Actions done and progress - savannah: . administration: approved new projects, changed project admins, etc . investigated why Ilka sometimes does not get mails for items posting/editing she should be notified about. The problem seems to come from the 'root' server mailing list handler since the lcgapp01 mail server reports that 'lost' mails were sent to rootdev (via which Ilka should be notified). . several users do not read the many warnings shown on savannah pages (including the submission form) and posts their requests to savcern instead of the relevant project . lots of rejected notifications (mainly gLite Middleware) due to wrong addresses in mailing lists and lists not allowing savannah to post. - hypernews: . new forums created . helped users with registration & password change problems - setup a mysql database on lcgapp1 to administrate the LCG configurations, projects and external software. - modified the prototype 'viewer' script to use this database instead of the xml file I started with. + Next actions - complete the LCG presenter/comparator script - modify the NB summary to fit on the screen (no horiz scroll) and harmonize it with the LCG config viewer - update my station from SLC3 to SLC4 ================================================== Bertrand Bellenot + Actions done - Installed Qt3.3.8 for win32_vc71 on afs/external - Installed 4Suite for win32_vc71 on afs/external - Installed PyXML for win32_vc71 on afs/external - Released ROOT v5.17.04 for the usual platforms ================================================== Piotr Kolet + Actions done - remove line with LCGCMT version that is above each table on summary page - install Subvesrion client for Windows, lxbuild022, MACPHSFT (fink package) - set the nightlies to use svn for checking out root - introduce CMTUSERCONTEXT in the nightlies - fixed some of the problems found after using CMTUSERCONTEXT and .. - roll back to use tag sensitive LCG_release value. - fixing problems related with above. + Problems - MACPHSFT02 is down every several days ================================================== Stefan Roiser + Actions done - LCG 53d released - Installation of ktjet 1.08 for slc and mac platforms - AFS project space increased by 50 GB - ROOT doxygen documentation created for 5.14.00h - RELAX 1.1.9a rebuilt for LCG 53d (needed because of CLHEP changes) - missing tar balls created mainly for Grid packages included in LCG 53d - Hypernews backups moved to CASTOR to free afs space (all backups up to now have been moved). The 2004-2005 ones have been deleted in afs. The backups are located in the lcgspi user area. - New machines requested for the lcgapp cluster (for Geant4 testing). - Re-installation including shared library of python 2.5 - Re-built doxygen documentation for ROOT 5.17.04 (was missing the src directory in afs) + Next actions - Installation of cgal for all platforms (and fastjet which depends on it) - Preparation of slides for IEEE conference - Prepare scripts for release process (ie. project builds, tar balls, documentatilon creation, etc.) + Problems - The requested installation for fastjet depends on a CGAL library which does not compile on slc3, because of the inability to configure it with the depending boost library.
