The weekly meeting of the Software Process and Infrastructure project of the LCG/AA.

================================================== Bertrand Bellenot + Actions done - Released ROOT v5.14.00i for the usual platforms - Started to look at ktjet & fastjet on Win32 + Next actions - continue investigations on ktjet & fastjet on Win32 (waiting on possible infos from Ivan Belyaev) ================================================== Yves Perrin + Actions done and progress - got my station upgraded to SLC4 but need to reinstall mysql, perl+APIs, SVN, Savannah , www-mechanize, etc ... - savannah: . deleted the Atlas Data Challenge project (replaced by an other project) on request of the project admins. . helped Joachim Flammer with his 36 MB export file (all glite bugs!). . asked two projects to fix some of their mailing lists in which they included savannah + a few of us as members instead of allowed 'posters' resulting in the reception of undesired emails. . Andrea Valassi reported a bug for which notifications are not sent ... I'll try to reproduce and fix it as soon as I get my test/development savannah working. - hypernews: . created four Atlas HN forums + some administration - continued with the LCG configurations presentation pages: . enhancements to the python script to generate 5 types of pages . filling of the associated database for the last 5 LCGCMT configs. - iterated with PH website authors who did not follow the CERN naming rules + Next actions - complete the LCG presenter/comparator script - modify the NB summary to fit on the screen (no horiz scroll) and harmonize it with the LCG config viewer ================================================== Ian McLaren + Actions done - Geant4 - Installed geant4.9.0.ref03 in geant4 area for slc3, Sun and - slc4_64. - Built clhep 2.0.3.2 on Windows with VC8. - Thanks to Stephan, found gfortran on macsft002 and included - in testing. - Geant4 testing. - Started study of the Bonsai functionality with Gunter. - Cernlib - Some user support for Cernlib and Fortran. + Next actions - Geant4 - Geant4 testing. - Prepare Geant4 9.1 minor public release, for which - clhep 2.0.3.2 installations in the lcg area will be needed. - I used CLHEP_2_0_3_2.tar.gz from - /afs/cern.ch/sw/geant4/dev/CLHEP/tar ================================================== Piotr Kolet + Actions done - Fix BuildMove script to copy LCGCMT to afs on macos and win32. - update lcg_InstallArea.py to support dylib -> so links. - fix Python version used to build ROOT on WIN32 - use Marco's QMTEST scripts in Nightlies. + Next actions - use LCG_Builders for Nightlies - add 1G memory on PCPHSFT37 - + Problems - CMT on windows does not respect CMTEXTRATAGS in some cases. ================================================== Stefan + Actions done - Received mail about ~ 25 machines which are still running slc3. Informing users to upgrade their machines. This was the last action from SPI concerning slc3. From now on users should be aware that there is no support for this OS anymore available. - LCGCMT - Interface changes for Boost, adding serialization package, requested by LHCb online team - removing Darwin interface information for castor, it was setting the DYLD_LIBRARY_PATH for this package. There is no installation for Darwin of castor. - Adding logging capabilities to the builder information. The log files are written with the "tee" command to the "log" directory for the get, config, make, install and test step. An extra command "loginstall" syncs the directory into the destination folder. - Apply fixes to pyqt interface package reported by Maco Cl. - External software - Rebuild of pyqt, it was built against qt4, i.e. a Qt4 directory was created in the site-packages and sip folders. The build information has been corrected and re-tagged. The windows version for it is missing!! - Fix for gccxml 0.6.0_patch4 for gcc41, the find_flags script was not correctly patched. The fix was done in situ, the patch file updated. - Setup of new laptop, migrating data from old machine + Next actions - lxr has been requested for CORAL, we need to set it up - Writing papers for conferences (IEEE, CHEP) - Preparing presentations for upcoming meetings (group, LHCC comprehensive review) - Install LCG 53f with the new build system using the build information from LCGCMT - Install a quota system on the lxbuild nodes together with the FIO team - install gcc 4.2.2 in the contrib area ==================================================
