Description
The LHC is expected to improve the measurements of the fundamental parameters of the Standard Model, allowing to probe the electroweak symmetry breaking mechanism.
Among other things, it will measure the W boson mass with an uncertainty of about 10 MeV and it will test the non-abelian nature of the electroweak force measuring the gauge boson self-couplings in the high energy limit. The seminar will illustrate the state-of-the-art of Monte Carlo event generators related to single and double vector boson production, in view of the latest experimental data.
