Scientific Programme

The school aims to:
i. Teach postgraduate students in Egypt how to perform studies in High Energy Physics using the most recent, available computational tools.
ii. Establish links between young researchers from Germany and Egypt.

A number of developers of High Energy Physics computational tools will give a series of lectures explaining these specialized tools. The list of software that will be discussed includes codes created or developed in Germany, such as “WHIZARD”, “HiggsBounds”, “SPheno” and “SARAH”. In addition, a number of software package developers from other countries will be invited.

This one-week training course will also include a supervised practical component for the students. It will include lectures delivered by German and Egyptian experts on how to perform studies in particle physics phenomenology, especially in the context of LHC physics.

The lectures will cover generic topics, but will include specialized lectures focusing on supersymmetric extensions of the standard model of particle physics.
