+ Actions done and progress
- savannah:
. several new projects approved + some help to project admins
. discussion with Stefan and Erwin Laure concerning the possibility
to provide access to a copy of the savannah database filled with
gLite Middleware relevant items only. This way they could extract
whatever they need with less overheads than going via the xml
export file. They are likely to need some help initially to
understand the db structure and the savannah conventions.
. some request for improvements together with a proposal to help
by providing work/manpower was addressed to Pere by Oliver
Keeble. Need to understand what they want to do.
- hypernews:
. created several Atlas HN forums + some administration (renaming
forums, etc)
. Terry Hung / SLAC has offered to help fixing some pbs/limitations
experienced by Atlas and to upgrade to most recent version of HN.
- modified the LCGCMT dynamic web pages to display the dependency
tree of the various packages versions
- wrote a python script to fill the database used to dynamically
generate the LCGCMT web pages. This script will be used when a new
configuration is released. Its interface to the configuration
release script is via a multi-level dictionary of dictionaries.
+ Next actions
- complete the set of LCGCMT dynamic web pages
- modify the NB summary to fit on the screen (no horiz scroll) and
harmonize it with the LCG config viewer
- install on my station (recently upgraded to SLC4) all the packages
necessary for the support/development of savannah.

- rebuild pyqt 3.17.3 because it was picking up qt 4 instead of 3 for the build
- the qmtest.bat script calling qmtest was changed in order to support LCGCMT and external users who want to setup the environment on their own.
- LCG comprehensive review talk was well received
- Hypernews: Terry Hung from SLAC is helping with the support for Hypernews, his
first actions were the rebuild of the search indexes for the Atlas, CMS and LCG/AA instances,
and resolving a problem with posts which were duplicated in case a vcard was attached.
- LCGCMT changes
- changing the pyqt interface package to fix problems with include pathes
- fixing the reflex_dictionary_generator pattern for test dictionaries, the move action for mac osx was missing (needed to comply to ROOT's PluginManager)
- A technical student was requested for the SPI project (together with Geant4). Official announcement of outcome of the board is pending.
- LCG Configurations
- LCG 53f tar balls have been created, they were not done during the post install process (old scripts). We can hopefully soon move to the new integrated scripts from within LCGCMT.
- Remove the Geant4 dictionary generation in RELAX for mac and win (no native builds)
- Solving a problem in the POOL cvs repository. A tag name was used also as branch name. This name was used for the nightlies. The solution was to introduce a new tag name.
- Solving several problems in the nightly builds for the dev slot with the help of many developers. We still have a few tests failing per project and some minor build problems. They will be resolved in the coming days.
- Time machine is now supported in the group for backups on mac machines.
+ Next actions
- Check the external packages for possible upgrades in connection with the new LCG configuration
- Rebuild the external stack native in slc4_ia32_gcc41, slc4_amd64_gcc41
- LCG 54 release
