Reports for the SPI project meeting 18. Dec 2007 ================================================== Yves Perrin + Actions done and progress - savannah: . new projects approved . Oliver Keeble is preparing a list of enhancements he would like to see in savannah. These should be discussed in january and IT proposes to help implementing them. . helped somenone who marked by mistake an item as spam and then got messed up trying to recover it. - hypernews: . installed Terry Hung's HN index update script as a cronjob running every 15 mn. . various admin tasks (moved two people from CMS and LHCb HN to Atlas HN, deleted a user and helped someone who couldn't login) - installed on my development station all the packages savannah depends on, downloaded latest savane source from the svn trunk, and started to install savannah ... almost completed except a problem with the httpd configuration file. + Next actions - complete installation of Savannah on my development system - complete the set of LCGCMT dynamic web pages with Stefan - modify the NB summary to fit on the screen (no horiz scroll) and harmonize it with the LCG config viewer ================================================== Bertrand Bellenot + Actions done - Installed zlib 1.2.3 for win32_vc71 - Installed expat 2.0.0 for win32_vc71 - Installed GSL 1.10 for win32_vc71 - Released ROOT 5.17.08 for all supported platforms ================================================== Piotr Kolet + Actions done - rebuild externals for gcc41 - - Compile and install qmtest 2.4 (with python 2.4.2 and Pyhton 2.5) - fixing windows builds - tries to understand the way Geant4 is checked out to provide scripts or recipe how to get the sources (working with Anton Ivantchenko) - simple scripts that updates authentication.xml on Windows and Mac (no access to AFS). The scripts is launched on pcphsft01 by acrontab everyday at 21:00. The script is located at ~lcgspi/scripts/authentication.xml.sh + Next actions - integration cmt pkg_* with nightlies. ================================================== Stefan Roiser + Actions done - Preparing LCG 54 - many improvements via the nighly build system - LCG_54_pre2 tag for all LCG/AA projects (except ROOT) given to CMS for their testing. - Whole stack of external software rebuilt for gcc 4.1, together with Piotr. - external sofware packages upgrades frontier_client 2.7.5 gsl 1.10 (not used yet, ROOT prefers to stay with 1.8) expat 2.0.0 boost 1.34.1 zlib 1.2.3 - GSL has been rebuilt without -g and with -fPIC for archive libs - rebuilt fastjet with -fPIC - New SSL certificate installed for HN - Moved HN backups of last 6 month into castor, freeing afs space. - Working with Predrag on LCG/AA s/w distribution via caching file systems - lxbuild021 is still running slc3, as IT is not supporting slc3 anymore this machine is now under the responsibility of SFT. We would like to move to slc4 ASAP but as long as all experiments have not migrated to a LCG configuration which does not contain slc3 anymore we have to maintain the machine. Also other experiments computer groups are using it as a fallback solution for their s/w builds. - Meeting with Geant4 (Piotr and me) concerning the move of Geant4 to the LCG/AA nightly build system. - Re-done postbuild for CORAL 1.9.2 (it did not succeed with the automatic request) - IEEE/NSS summary talk in group meeting - IT Service Database entries done for Savannah and Hypernews. SFT is supporting these two services on a "best effort" basis. + Next actions - Install new valgrind 3.3.2 with patches received from CMS for big applications ==================================================
