*PLEASE NOTE CHANGE OF VENUE*.
The meeting will be held at the University of Sheffield in Lecture Theatre E (LT-E) of the Hicks Building (Department of Physics and Astronomy). The Hicks Building is building 121 on the map here. Lecture Theatre E is located on floor E, one floor up from the main entrance, at the south-east end of the building.
General travel information can be found here.
If arriving by train it is probably easiest to catch a tram from the station to 'University of Sheffield'. From the station catch a tram with a blue square (direction 'Malin Bridge') or yellow square (direction 'Middlewood'). The journey takes ~10 minutes. The same trams also provide transport to the University from city centre hotels. Tickets can be purchased from the conductor on the tram.
Please note that parking near the University is extremely limited. If travelling by car it is probably best to park in one of the city park-and-ride car parks (see here) and take a tram to the University.
If travelling from outside the UK, Sheffield can be reached by train relatively easily from most major UK airports. Most convenient is probably Manchester Airport (hourly direct trains to Sheffield, 1hr 15 mins journey time). From Geneva (Easyjet) another good option is London Luton airport (trains from Luton Airport Parkway, change at Luton, ~2hr 30mins journey time). Frequent trains serve Sheffield from central London via St. Pancras station (which also has connections to Eurostar (direct), London Heathrow Airport via the London Underground, and London Gatwick Airport via First Capital Connect). Further information on air connections can be found here.
Timetables and connection information for all train travel within the UK can be found here.
