5–8 Nov 2013
Hotel Holiday Inn, San Cristóbal de las Casas, México

Information (Transportation, lodging, food,...)

Transportation: All participants will be picked-up at the Airport Angel Albino Corso (TGZ) by a University bus and taken to San Cristobal de las Casas. However, just in case, here is the hours of the shuttle bus that connects the Airport to San Cristobal: Hotels below are at walking distance (~1.5 km) from the bus station. However taxis are cheap and safe: the taxi fare for that distance should be no more that 40 pesos.

Lodging:
Restaurants, Cafès, Clubs: San Cristobal is a lively city with a high variety of offers (check the previous link). Below is a quite partial list of places that I like:
  • Casa del Pan, Real de Guadalupe n. 55 (vegeterian restaurant + movie theatre + more)
  • Pizzeria El Punto, Real de Guadalupe n. 47 (pizza is fairly good, not cheap)
  • Ñam ñam, Real de Guadalupe (café-restaurant, excellent quality variety of food, check the link!)
  • Arez, Real de Guadalupe (lebanese restaurant: veggie + more)
  • Entropia, 22a calle Adelina Flores (restaurante music bar, nice gigs and drinks; check the reviews here)
  • Cafè de la Selva, Avenida Crescencio Rosas n. 9 (very good coffe place near workshop venue)
  • Oh la la, Real de Guadalupe 2 (french-style bakery)
However you are invited to test other places and to please let me know if they are good. --OC

Things to do and to see: Chiapas is full of interesting spots to visit, archelogical sites, pitoresquesque cities and many natural beaties. As a Social Event we plan a visit at the nearby canyon Cañon del Sumidero
