Detector Seminar

Challenges for HL-LHC Trigger Detectors and Associated Processing

by Elliot Lipeles (University of Pennsylvania (US))

Friday, 11 October 2013 from to (Europe/Zurich)
at CERN ( 40-S2-C01 - Salle Curie )
The HL-LHC with increased instantaneous luminosity and pile-up will place new demands on the LHC detector trigger systems. I'll present a description of these demands, the technical constraints, and some of the ideas for addressing the issues. The ideas include hardware track triggers implemented either in a two-stage “Region of Interest” driven design, or a single stage "Intelligent Tracker".
