14:00 - 19:00: Visit to Sintra, Palace of Pena, one of the Seven Wonders of Portugal
Visit to the historic town of Sintra, degustation of the legendary traveseiros of Sintra. The tour will include a walk of 1 hour and a half uphill and downhill in a natural park External view of the Castelo dos Mouros.

The tour will include:

After the visit we'll go to the restaurant, making a turnabout to see the exterior of the Sé (main church):

Points of interest: Jerónimos Monastery, Tower of Belém, Monument of Discoveries, Rose of Winds, Palace of Ajúda, Belém Palace (Presidential residence), Museum of coaches, Electricity Museum. Degustation of the legendary Pasteis de Belém.

- Ticket for entry to the palace: 11€;
- Transport: train of Lisbon – Sintra line (about 40 min one-way from the centre of Lisbon): cost 2.2€ with additional 0.5€ for card;
- Meeting: at 12:40 at the Rossio train station (to take the train at 13:08)
Please make sure you have adequate clothing in case of rain and wind.

The tour will include:
- Ascension with elevator Glória: a mean of public transport since the beginning of 20th century;
- Miradouro (vista point) of São Pedro de Alcântara: a view over the city with an introduction to its history;
- Largo Trindade Coelho – Church and museum of São Roque (only from the outside because the buildings will be closed at that hour): the Jesuits in Portugal, the point of departure of São Francisco Xavier for Asia;
- Largo do Chiado: the centre of cultural life and the bohemia of the city since the end of the 19th century;
- Rossio: the heart of the city since the Middle Age; Ginginha: a traditional drink of Lisbon;
- Descension down Rua Augusta: Lisbon after the earthquake;
- Praça do Comércio: a visit hall of Lisbon – from the antique Terreiro do Paço up to nowadays; O Terreiro do Paço of King D. Manuel (the Discoveries) of the Filipes and of the Pombaline Lisbon.
- Starting meeting point: Praça de Restauradores.
- Price of the tour: depending on the numeber of participants (approx. 10-12€); the price includes: a guided tour in English, a ticket for the Glória elevator, 1 glass of ginginha per person.
