Directions

The venue for the conference and on-site accommodation are on the University of Sussex campus, which is located in Falmer, on the outskirts of Brighton and can be reached by a short bus or train ride from the city.

The talks will be in Fulton building (number 30 on this campus map). Most of the talks and in particular all talks Tuesday will be in Fulton Lecture Theatre B (ground floor, within the main foyer area).

Lunches will be served in Dine Central in Bramber House (building 13 on the map, first floor, 2 minutes walk from Fulton).

Those staying in conference accommodation will have received detailed instructions, please follow those. Northfield accommodation buildings are number 1 on the map (about 8 minutes walk from Fulton, about 15 minutes' walk from the train station at the edge of the campus; there is a bus 25 stop more or less in front of Northfield). The out-of-hours reception is in York House (number 10 on the map).

Brighton itself is less than an hour by train from central London. The main station serving Brighton is London Victoria, with some other services also operating from London Bridge and London St Pancras.

Getting to the campus: it can be reached by rail via Falmer station, located on the Southern edge of campus (bottom of the map), with frequent trains from Brighton station. It is also served by frequent bus services, line 25, which stops in various places in the city centre, and travels within the campus, bus stops are shown on the map. See also the university website providing directions to the campus from within the UK and overseas.

The closest airport to Brighton is London Gatwick. Regular train services  to the city operate, taking between 30 and 40 minutes, and about one hour to Falmer (change at Brighton). The other London airports are considerably further away and generally require passing through London to reach Brighton. From Heathrow, one option is to take the Picadilly and District/Circle Underground Lines to London Victoria Station (about one hour), and a train on from there, but there are also bus connections. Use the National Rail website to enquire about train travel within the UK to Brighton. National Express also provides coach services to Brighton from all London (and other) airports. Southampton and Bournemouth airports are also located on the south coast of the UK and are within a few hours from Brighton by coach or train.
