Accomodations

College Station has a range of hotels, but the dates of the meeting fall onto very high demand days (several events happen that weekend in town). While it should be still relatively easy to get a hotel, parking on campus on Monday may be a challenge.

To address the parking problem, we are holding a block of rooms at the College Station Courtyard by Marriott for the meeting attendees and we will arrange for transportation that will run between campus and the hotel. This hotel is about 15 minutes of driving away from campus, but the town is relatively small and getting around is easy. Unfortunately, we could not get a large enough block of rooms in the same hotel closer to campus. If you plan to drive yourself, you may want to get a hotel on University Avenue to be closer to everything.

To reserve your rooms, please do one of the following: 

• Call the hotel directly (979.695.8111) or call central reservations (1.800.314.1458) and refer to Mitchell Institute or provide the group code MING
• Reserve online at http://www.courtyard.com/cllcy by entering MINMING into the group/convention field

You will have to provide a credit card number to make a reservation. All reservations have to be made on or before the group room block release date of 01/30/14. You will be charged the state rate of $97/night+tax, which is significantly lower than their standard rate. If you need any assistance, please contact the organizers.

The hotel location is a bit away from the center of the town. However, right next door to it there is a pretty decent Italian restaurant and a relatively large shopping plaza across the highway from the hotel.
