The Egyptian school of high energy physics was first held at The British University in Egypt (BUE) from 27/5 to 4/6 of 2009, while the second school was held at Helwan University, Egypt in November of 2010. The third school was held at the BUE and Cairo University from 25/4 to 3/5 of 2012. The fourth school will take place at Ain Shams University (ASU) and the BUE from 26/4 to 5/5 of 2014. This series of schools on high energy physics has been organized under the auspices of Academy of Scientific Research and Technology (ASRT, Egypt), French National Center for Scientific Research (CNRS), The Italian National Institute for Nuclear Physics (INFN), and the International Centre for Theoretical Physics (ICTP, Italy).

The 4th school will be held in two venues

1- Ain Shams University's Guest House, Cairo, Egypt

2- The British University in Egypt (BUE), El-Sherouk City, Egypt

Goals of the school

The goal of this series of schools is to give extensive courses on the basic topics of theoretical, computational and experimental particle physics for the Egyptian as well as regional graduate students. The prospective outcome of the school is to establish qualified members capable to join the Egyptian national project related to CMS experiment of the Large Hadron Collider (LHC) at CERN.

Topics of the school lectures

1. Introduction to Particle Physics and Standard Model

2. Latest Results of LHC Experiments

3. Electroweak Interaction

4. Beyond the Standard Model at LHC

5. Grid Computing

6. Computation and Analysis Tools

7. Medical Physics

8. Relativistic Heavy-Ion Collisions

9. CMS Muon System Upgrade During LS1
