Travel and Accomodation

Accomodation

We have booked two accomodations for the duration of the workshop:

All lecturers will be accomodated in the Highfield House Hotel.

Directions to Campus

Directions about how to reach the campus and the Physics and Astronomy building can be found at this link:

http://www.hep.phys.soton.ac.uk/contact

A map of the campus can be found at this link:

https://www.southampton.ac.uk/visitus/campuses/highfield.html

To reach the Workshop venue on foot, you can follow the directions in the following links:

Both hotels are also very close to Unilink bus stops. To reach the campus by bus, the buses to take are either the U1A or U1W, and from the Elizabeth House Hotel it is also possible to take the U2B. These buses will bring you to the campus, where you can easily reach the Physics and Astronomy building.

To go back to the hotels, you can take the U1C or, just for the Elizabeth House Hotel, the U2C.

If you are planning to use the bus on a daily basis, it can be useful to consider buying return tickets or multiple tickets. More information about the Unilink bus network, prices and timetable can be found at this link:

http://www.unilinkbus.co.uk/

The workshop organisation will only refund reasonable travel costs. Hence, if coming from the same institution, please consider sharing cars (costs will be refunded at the standard University mileage rates). If coming by public transport (train or coach), please purchase reduced advance tickets whenever available and/or consider taking advantage of Southampton being on the route of the low cost train/coach operator

Parking

For participants who are coming by car and asked for parking, the parking is located in the Avenue Campus, very close to the Workshop Venue. More information about how to reach the parking can be found here:

http://www.southampton.ac.uk/visitus/campuses/avenue.html

To reach the workshop venue from the parking slots you can follow the directions or download the schematic map provided in the following links:
