Particle accelerators are propellers for future science enabling fundamental research and new technology developments. Lasers are used in a variety of applications for accelerators from ion generation and acceleration through to diagnostic techniques essential for performance optimization. During this 3-day international conference the following areas will be covered:

  • Laser-based particle sources
  • Laser-driven particle beam acceleration
  • Lasers for beam diagnostics and fs timing systems
  • System integration

The program will consist of invited talks from all above areas, as well as  contributed talks that will be selected by the Programme Committee from all contributions to the event. The conference proceedings will be published in a special edition of Nuclear Instruments and Methods A.

The Laser Applications at Accelerators Conference 2015 will be held in conjunction with the 5thTopical Workshop on Beam Diagnostics (23rd – 24th March at the same venue) to enable attendance at both events without extra travelling. It is organized by the University of Liverpool in partnership with the LA³NET consortium.

LA³NET has received funding from the European Union’s Seventh Framework Programme for research, technological development and demonstration under grant agreement no 289191.

The LA³NET Conference 2015 will be held in conjunction with the fifth LA³NET Topical Workshop on Beam Diagnostics (23rd – 24th March at the same venue chargeable at €350) to enable attendance at both events without extra travelling.

Delegates registering for both events are entitled to a €50 discount from the conference fee.

For more details and to register for the Workshop see CERN Indico link.

Several scholarships for early stage researchers outside the network will be available. The scholarships will cover the cost of the conference including accommodation in shared rooms but recipients will have to arrange and pay for their own travel costs to the event.

The deadline for receiving scholarship application forms (see Material) is 12 December 2014 and all applicants will be informed of the decision on awarding them a scholarship before the end of January. The decision of the project panel will be final.
