Description

The Neutron Monitor database NMDB, which has been funded by the FP7 program of European Commission, has been providing both real-time as well as historical data since its inception in 2008. In the beginning only the participants from a few European and Asian countries where providing their data to the database. However, the number of stations participating in NMDB is still increasing so that currently most American and Australian stations are also contributing to NMDB. Additionally, data from other historical stations (from Ahmedabad to Zugspitze) is being added to NMDB as a further step for one of our goals: making all Neutron Monitor data available in one format from one place for everybody. The data can be selected, viewed, and downloaded through the web interface at nest.nmdb.eu. To facilitate the addition of new stations, a set of python scripts has been developed which can be used by all stations to easily transfer their data to NMDB in a tested way. By using a common software the data quality and the accessibility of the database is improved.
