Description
The primary scientific goal of the AEgIS experiment (Antihydrogen Experiment: Gravity, Interferometry, Spectroscopy) is the direct measurement of the Earth’s gravitational acceleration, g, on anti-hydrogen. The experiment is in the midst of the first stage of it’s commissioning, and aims to produce Anti-Hydrogen atoms in the near future. A technical overview of the present situation will be discussed with the most important challenges in the past and still ahead. In the second part of the seminar the current ideas of the gravitational fall experiment will be presented with preliminary results of the first prototypes.
