Normal zone propagation velocity (NZPV) and minimum quench energy (MQE) of REBCO coated conductors have been analytically estimated starting from an experimental characterization of the electrical (critical current) and thermal (thermal conductivity and specific heat) properties of the tapes. The study has been carried out on conductors produced by different manufacturers. The results obtained in the tape from SuperPower have been compared with experimental data from the University of Twente [J. van Nugteren, master thesis].
