The Workshop will be held in the time from July 29th to July 31st at FIAS, Frankfurt am Main, Germany. Over the last years several experiments have begun to (and will in the future) measure fluctuations of particle number, particle momenta and conserved charges, in relativistic nuclear collisions. Goal is to determine the QCD phase-transition and/or critical endpoint of the QCD deconfinement and/or chiral phase transition. Different experiment tend to focus on different fluctuation measures (to yet not very conclusive results). On the theory side predictions are usually restricted to thermodynamic grand canonical or canonical ensembles, i.e. not directly comparable to experimental measurements. As the question of the existence and location of the QCD phase transition is the major scientific goal of the CBM experiment at FAIR it is essential to understand results of current experiments as well as to develop theoretical tools used to interpret future CBM measurements. observables.

To be able to offer some refreshments during the workshop and organize a conference dinner, we will have to ask the participants to pay a moderate conference fee of 100€, payable (in cash) upon arrival at the workshop. If, for some reason, you are not able to afford such a fee please contact Jan Steinheimer for a solution.
