We intend to have a short (2-3 days) very focussed Workshop addressing the following questions:
- What is the quantity to be measured. (Which one is best suited for finding the CEP/phase transition) and how can we achieve comparability between experiments as well as observables?
- How are these quantities actually measured? What are the details of the measurements?
- How can we disentangle the interesting physics from the detector and analysis dependent effects
- And most importantly how can theory help? What are to tools needed to understand the experimental results?
We will invite (10-15) specialists from the experiments, most engaged in fluctuation measures i.e. STAR, NA61, ALICE and HADES as well as theoreticians whose work focus lies on the understanding of the measurement of fluctuation
