Description
In the first lecture, I will motivate the search for extra
space-time symmetries and the emergence of supersymmetry. I
will present some technical developments around extensions
of Poincaré algebra and discuss their applications. In the
second lecture, I will focus on what could stand beyond
ordinary relativistic quantum field theory of point-like
particles. The technical part of the lecture will be the
description of relativistic-string classical dynamics. A
discussion on the various facets of string theory and its
relevance for high-energy physics and cosmology will follow.
