Description
Consider a quantum field theory which is integrable in the bulk. Demanding that this field theory remain integrable in the presence of a boundary places severe restrictions on the possible boundary interactions. Similarly, if a field theory has bulk supersymmetry, then demanding that supersymmetry be preserved in the presence of a boundary also restricts the possible boundary interactions. This raises the question: to what extent can BOTH integrability and supersymmetry be maintained in the presence of a boundary? After a brief introduction to integrable QFT, we address this question in the context of three examples: the N=1 and N=2 sine-Gordon models, and the tricritical Ising model.
