The weekly meeting of the Software Process and Infrastructure project of the LCG/AA.

================================================== Yves Perrin + Actions done and progress - Savannah: still a very sustained activity ...  . new users / projects / posted items  . data based was moved as it approched the volume limit - Hypernews: also a lot of activity  In spite of the announced migration to e-groups still a high  demand for new fora. Dario and Stephen suggest requestors  to find other solutions and wait for the new system. - started to 'experiment' moving HN fora to e-groups (by sending  email with properly formatted headers to tell e-groups about  the forum/thread tree structure). Needs to transfer attachnments  as well. Test bench is still rudimentary. - wrote a short summary of problems related to the present SPI related  web pages and the main characteristics of DRUPAL a candidate  content management system tested by Fons for the ROOT and Photo Club  sites + Next actions - continue studying HN migration to e-groups - work on Drupal with Stefan + AOB - will be away next friday and monday ================================================== Ana Gaspar + Actions done - Install Boost 1.36.0 - Install HepPDT 2.05.02 - Test the xmlrpc application -Python course + Next actions - Put in production the xmlrpc application ================================================== Stefan Roiser + Actions done - LCG 54h has been released, the release contains some upgrades for POOL, COOL and CORAL and a new version of ROOT. Details at http://lcgsoft.cern.ch/index.py?page=cfg_overview&cfg=54h - Investigations of Sharepoint webpages. In general a nice content management tool. A problem is the non-cross-browser compatibility, i.e. the only browsers found that support all features are Internet Explorer and Firefox 2 (supported unitl 12/08) - Small problems in genreflex which made the nightly builds hang on gcc43 were fixed. - Setup of an e-groups test instance to investigate the possibilities to move HN postings into Sharepoint archives. - Macphsft06 had a problem with the firewall settings, not allowing it's samba share to be mounted anymore. Fixed now + review of all settings. - The setup.(c)sh script for gcc 4.3 has been put into the gcc 4.3.2 installation dirs. This script will provide a proper runtime environment for the compiler. + Next actions - Try to start recompiling Grid packages for "non native" compilers e.g. gcc 4.3 - Get a better understanding of the capabilities of Drupal ==================================================
