Description

For web/browser-based applications/AJAX-applications it is important to efficiently communicate to web services to exchange data. There are exsisting protocalls, e.g. SOAP the not so Simple Object Access Protocol, that are rich in features but rather complex. This complexity is not needed for a lot of use cases. This is where JSON-RPC fits into the picture. It is a simple yet powerful RPC protocol which defines how services and clients should communicate with each other.

Summary

The talk will give an introduction to JSON-RPC.

It will discuss the protocol and its differences and similarities to other
protocols and give an overview of implementations available.

Using life examples it will show how simple it is to create JSON-RPC based web
services in python and how these services can be utilized in web applications.

The talk should give the interested developer the ability to get started with
JSON-RPC, giving her or him an understanding of the protocol and it's uses and
an idea of where JSON-RPC is heading in the future.

I am looking forward to some lively discussions.
