Air traffic from and to Thessaloniki is served by its International Airport Macedonia. The airport is located 15 km from the city center and is connected with the public transportation.
Public transportation
Public transport in Thessaloniki is provided by the Organization of Urban Transportation of Thessaloniki (OASTH). Tickets can be obtained at the various ticket points, as well as inside the buses. There is a tickets point outside the airport arrivals. Note that if you buy your ticket on board there is a surcharge of 10 cents. The following tickets may be of interest for you:

Getting from Thessaloniki International Airport "Macedonia" to the center of the city
The airport is served on a 24-hour basis by OASTH (Thessaloniki Urban Transport Organization)
Arrival: From 05:30 till 23:00 To get to the city center take the bus n.78 from the airport arrivals till the bus stop "ΧΑΝΘ" (pronounced HANTH).
From 23:30 till 05:00 Take the bus n.78N from the airport arrivals till the bus stop "SINTRIVANI".
To get to your hotel, please, choose the needed bus stop by OASTH.
Alternatively, a taxi from the airport to the city center is available for less than 30 euros from 5:00 till 24:00, while from 24:00 till 5:00 extra 10 euros could be charged. Minimum taxi fare is 3,10 € [A double fare is applicable at night (24:00 – 05:00)].
