Welcome reception

Monday November 28, 2016, 18:00-20:00.  The welcome reception will be in the courtyard in front of the Sydney Nanoscience Hub (SNH) building. In case of bad weather it will be in the foyer of the Sydney Nanoscience Hub building.

Conference dinner

Thursday December 1, 2016, from 19:00.  The conference dinner will be at the Italian Village on Circular Quay

Self-organised excursion

No talk has been scheduled for the afternoon (from 12:30) of Wednesday November 30, 2016. We encourage participants to use this time for recreation. See Things to do for recommendations.

Public talk by Prof. Manfred Lindner

Professor Manfred Lindner (MPIK Heidelberg, Germany) will give a public lecture on "The Dark Side of the Universe" on Tuesday November 29, 2016, 19:00 at the Messel lecture theatre, Sydney Nanoscience Hub.  Attendance is free, but registration is required.

2016 Fine-tuning, the Multiverse and Life Workshop

This two-day workshop will take place at the University of Sydney on November 24-25, 2016.  It is targeted at physicists, cosmologists, astronomers and philosophers of science and will cover topics including:

       - The nature of fundamental constants,

       - Physical theories of the multiverse

       - The role of probability theory in evaluating cases of fine-tuning and naturalness

       - The conditions for life in the universe​
