AWAKE phase #2 (Stefano)

  • Cost estimates including installation for phase #2 to be updated (Stefano/Ray)
  • Faraday-cup electronics and software to be based on BI standard (Federico/Stefano)
  • Schedule for spectrometer optical line installation to be clarified (Stefano)
  • TRIUMF BPM proposed on common beam-line to test frequency response difference between e- and p+. It remains unclear whether simulations take into account realistic working-points (bunch-length and intensity) (L. Soby to check with TRIUMF)
  • Spectrometer ANDOR camera read-out and software requirements to be clarified (like streak-camera??) (Stefano)

BWS electronics (J, Emery)

  • Solution appears to not use much of the VFC
  • Follow-up meeting to be organised by Hermann
  • Any delays should not prevent the beam tests foreseen before end of 2016

SPS Fast BST issues (E. Calvo)

  • Question about RF changes during chromaticity measurements to be checked (Eva)
  • First implementation in BA3 expected before Summer 2016
  • Installation in ECA5 expected before the SPS ion run

LSA settings for BI systems (Enrico)

  • FESA servers depend on persistency file handling during server restart - some issues seen
  • Possible solution means importing device/properties to LSA which would allow reverting to previously  stored values (could be named according to the running sequence) - manual intervention required (BI/OP)
  • Changes to BI expert applications to allow accessing LSA (Java-based only)
  • BE-CO support for non-Java clients to be checked with S. Deghaye

VFC status and plans (Thibaut):

  • Access to DDR3 memory from FPGA appears to be working better (Jiri) but work still required in collaboration with ALTERA (Andrea et al)
  • Clients for first batch of VFC-HD modules - F. Arnold to use version with no external memory (Federico to confirm)
  • First batch of 250 modules expected early 2018
