The results from the first science run of ZEPLIN-III will be presented which have resulted in an upper limit to the WIMP-nucleon spin-independent elastic scattering cross-section of 8.1x10(-8)pb. The instrument performance charateristics and behaviour will be reviewed. The status of preparations for the second science run will be given
