A workshop on the “Status of Accelerator Driven Systems Research and Technology Development” is organised at CERN on 7-9 February 2017. As the last one in a series of workshops dedicated to ADS-related subjects (see https://indico.cern.ch/event/384686/ and https://indico.cern.ch/event/300409/), scope of the meeting will be to review the current state of the art of ADS programmes and address in particular subjects like:

  •   Critical aspects for accelerator operation
  •  Accelerator-target interface challenges
  •  Status of major ADS programmes in the world
  •  ADS coupling experiments
  •  Social and economic perspective of ADS
  •   Lessons learned and future R&D

The workshop is organised in the framework of EuCard2 WP4 (Accelerator Applications).

AccApplic is a networking activity within the European project on particle accelerators, addressing the applied areas of industry, healthcare, energy production and security. Amongst its objectives is to” determine the requirements for high power accelerator applications, in particular for Accelerator Driven Systems (ADS)”.
