CRU Weekly meeting (21 Sept 2016)

Actions:

• EDR report from Alex: questions were assigned to people, everyone should start preparing the answer to the questions assigned to him/her.
• date of EDR follow up: will be aligned with prototype FW release
• shuaib will report back when we can start accessing remotely the Arria10 card they have received in kolkata.
• jubin will send around presentation on XCVR clocking.

Report on Actions:

1. 10G PON

• small modifications, no significant update.
• update from altera on 2UI error:  "this seems like a bug we are currently investigating".

2. GBT

• Added muliple bank support - not the same we had earlier (now supports up to 15 link per module);
• uses 1 ATX PLL / module; xN clock lines.
• probably still not the final clocking scheme.
• question to answer: do we gain [skew] performance if we incorporate bonding?
• Working on enabling the multiple GBT links and PLLs.

3. DCS

• No update.

4. PCIe

• opened the door to the GBT to push data using FIFO like interface.
• still working on some bugs [1 word data corruption on transfer boundary].
• will push changes to git

5. Integration

• lots of work by erno on simulation.
• mazsi added in simulation TTCPON to erno's GBT simulation. PCIe still in separate simulation.

• PiPPo at CERN in september, on conference 10-14 october, on leave until 7 november (but can work remotely).
