Description
After DESY (March 2006) and Aachen (April 2007), we had 3 and a half days of discussion and exchanges on all the physics and mathematical issues that affect TPC operation and performances. Students and young physicists took time to discuss in depth the questions arising when analysing beam and cosmic test data in TPCs (Alice, ILC, PANDA, T2K…) with specialists of various related fields.

    • Gas gain fluctuations

      Gas gain fluctuations impact resolution of a standard pad TPC, and efficiency for single electron detection by a digital TPC, as well as energy resolution for x-rays. The speakers review basic issues on these fluctuations, as well as recent MC-data comparisons and recent data from the TimePix-InGrid detector.
