Work package 11 in EuCARD-2 supports material developments for collimators and targets, where requirements for material shock resistance, electrical and heat conductance, in conjunction with radiation hardness push research onto challenging grounds.
This 4th annual meeting aims at a comprehensive review of irradiation test results (under protons and heavy ions), high-energy beam impact experiments and correlation to material simulation activities as well as progress on modelling and characterization of new materials for HL-LHC collimators, particularly in view of final WP deliverables. An overview of the upcoming Multimat experiment in HiRadMat and an introduction to the future Work-Package and Tasks in the recently approved ARIES programme will also be provided.
