Reaching the IFT

From the Airport to the University

  • Taxi: The best choice is to take a taxi from the Airport to the Madrid Autonoma University which will cost you around 30 €.
  • Metro-Cercanías Train: From Barajas Airport follow the signs "Metro" to the subway station. Line 8 takes you directly to Nuevos Ministerios station (in Paseo de la Castellana) in 15 minutes approximately. There you can pick up a "Cercanías" train to University. Line C-4 to Colmenar Viejo or Alcobendas/San Sebastián de los Reyes, takes you from that station to the University (Cantoblanco-Universidad Station). (See Line C-4 Diagram)(See system map for Metro)(Train time-table)

From the Airport to Madrid

  • Taxi: From Barajas Airport you can take a taxi to Madrid which will cost you around 20 €
  • Metro: From Barajas Airport, follow the signs "Metro" to the subway station. Line 8 takes you directly to Nuevos Ministerios (in Paseo de la Castellana) en 15 minutos approximately. (See system map for Metro)
  • Bus: From Barajas Airport you can take bus 200 (in T1, T2 and T3 terminals) or 204 (in T4 terminal) to Plaza América where you can find Long distance buses, EMT buses, intercity buses and lines 4,6,7 and 9 of Metro.

From Madrid to the University

  • Cercanías train: There is a train station at the University. Line C-4 to Colmenar Viejo or Alcobendas/San Sebastián de los Reyes, takes you to the University (Cantoblanco-Universidad Station) and you can pick up it in Atocha (main station in the Centre/South of Madrid), Nuevos Ministerios (Paseo de la Castellana) and Chamartín (main station in the North). After Chamartín, the second station is Cantoblanco-Universidad, where you should exit. (See Line C-4 Diagram) (Train time-table)
  • Bus: There are buses from Madrid to the University, which are fairly frequent at typical high hours (These are the buses you can take.) They leave from Plaza de Castilla. You might reach Plaza de Castilla by metro (there is a stop there). Then, exit the metro station and locate the terminal of buses going to the University.

    • 828 Madrid (Canillejas) - Alcobendas - Univ. Autónoma
