The weekly meeting of the Software Process and Infrastructure project of the LCG/AA.
================================================== Ana Gaspar + Actions done - Install frontier_client - Install tmalloc - Install tcsh - New nightlies-thread version. It was tested only in vc9, but the results were similar to the slot dev2. - Merge the new nightlies-threads version with Victor's version - CleanAfs script: the exceptions were not caught - Look after the nightlies status + Next actions - Fix the problems with the nightlies-threads version - Write the abstracts for the conferences (deadline september) - ================================================== Radim Roska + actions done - ROOT,CORAL,COOL,RELAX projects build without errors with coverage options - prepared patches with necessary changes - generation of code coverage html results is done as a part of pkg_test action, at the end of this action is modified also *.summary file (append line and function code coverage - 2 numbers) - results are moved to directory specified by variable - easy modification will move this to the desired www directory in nightlies directory + next actions apply changes to test run + problems - ROOT test suite suffer undefined symbol from gcov library. Because files with these error are built by root application (by script roottest//scripts/build.C) and lgcov is not linked. So I just have to get lgcov lib to the root aplication so that build script can link it to the final *.so file that represents test. - low priority issues with GAUDI* project. I will solve this once more important things works flawlessly :) ============================================================ Bertrand Bellenot + Actions done - Released ROOT v5.22.00c for the usual platforms - Released ROOT v5.24.00 for the usual platforms - Made a custom build of win32 extensions for Python 2.5.4 with MSVC++9.0  Modification of msvccompiler.py and addition of msvc9compiler.py to  distutils was needed. Used in the nightlies and apparently without  any problem so far + Problems - different gfal versions for SLC4/SLC5 is a real issue (to be polite) - addition of dynamic libraries in fftw3 external package had side-effects  in ROOT build: it took the dynamic (.so) files instead of the usual  archive (.a), forcing the rebuild of all Linux and Mac binaries... ================================================== Yves Perrin + Actions done and progress - Savannah  . several new projects approved and one project deleted  . discussed with Simone Campana the possibility of implementing    a second instance of Savannah dedicated to Atlas data management    workflow (several ten thousands of items).    Given them an example to develop a small API to submit items    by program. - Hypernews  . migrated LHCb, Alice and LCGAA HN instances to eGroups  . added CMSCVS to the backup chain - Drupal  . got two instances installed sharing the same codebase  . prepared presentation for the SFT group meeting  . prepare to work with Erik Hidle on integrating the Drupal based    web site he is preparing for Virtualization as a 3rd instance - Other  . prepared to coach Juha Hollanti, a stagiaire from mid-July till    end of August who will work on a programmatic test suite for Savannah  . renewed Oracle password (script failed) and moved SFT book library    db from 'devdb' to 'pdbr' + Next actions  . continue work on Drupal (doc, backup, new instances)  . create a savannah instance for Juha to use for the development    of the Test suite  . work with Erik on integrating Virtualization web site as new instance + AOB  . will be away last week of July ================================================== Stefan Roiser + Actions done - Testing the slc4 binaries on a slc5 worker node. This node was equipped with the "meta rpm" provided by SPI to pull in slc4 dependencies. Tests which only require runtime are running fine. Once it comes to compilation more rpms are needed. - LCGCMT has been extended with a pattern to express optional dependencies. This is used e.g. for AA projects and their plugins. - LCGCMT has also been extended with a new set "host_cmtconfig" this is a CMTCONFIG value that is computed by CMT itself. It can be used for setting the CMTCONFIG variable automatically. - The LCG_Builders pkg_get python script has been enhanced with a caching mecahnism which will allow proper working on Darwin. - Doxygen documentation has been added to CLHEP - including a few minor changes in LCGCMT. The usual actions pkg_doxygen_[config|make|install] are now also working for externals (not only projects). ==================================================
