LCG 57
---
- LCG 57 is currently being prepared. It shall be released Monday Oct. 19th. The configuration will be based on the latest ROOT 5.24.00b production release and contains new versions for other AA projects and upgrades of several external packages. More details can be found at http://lcgsoft.cern.ch
Mac 10.6
---
- The porting of the AA software stack to Mac OSX 10.6 (snow leopard) will start soon. The plan is to upgrade the 32 bit build server to Mac OSX 10.6 and port the whole stack on mac106-ia32-gcc41-X. Once this has been achieved the service for mac builds on 10.5 (leopard) will be discontinued. Then also the other build server (64 bit) will be upgraded to 10.6 and the whole sw stack ported onto mac106-x86_64-gcc41-X enabling the nightly builds for 32 and 64 bit on the second machine as soon as all packages have been upgraded.
icc 11.0
---
- The nightly builds now support also icc 11.0. The builds are fine, testing seems to have several problems, probably connected to selinux. More investigations are needed.

Atlas
---
- Running against the dev2 slot of the nightlies (HEAD of all probject including ROOT_today) since a few days, everything looks fine.
- End of last week selinux was fully enabled on one lxbuild machine, builds are fine. The same success rate of tests as for disabled selinux has been observed.
- Requesting LCG 56d for around Xmas, a wiki page with the current issues is available at https://twiki.cern.ch/twiki/bin/view/Atlas/KnownLCGIssuesAtlas
- With the usage of the Atlas pyAMI package, which is based on LCG external package 4suite, some hardcoded values into afs were observed.
- 8 more build nodes have been received in order to start more slc5 builds. 2 important branches for bug fixes and developments for 32 and 64 bit. Currently they are back to FIO because the wrong node types (disk servers) were delivered.
ROOT
---
- 5.24.00b will be updated with kerberos access and pythia 6 + 8 libs.
- 5.22.00d will be done whenever there is time. No real need at the moment .... we need to keep an eye on this in respect to the Xmas LCG 56d request of Atlas.
CMS
---
- NeuroBias is a new package from Karlsruhe University. It is closed source, collaborations need to ask for permission to use it. CMS is not yet willing to accept it because closed source -> issue shall be discussed at the next AF.
LHCb
---
- Currently fighting to package Ganga. It works on slc4 but not on slc5 because of qt3. qt3 installations fail on slc5, Ganga might move to qt4
Persistency
---
- Main developments are currently being done on the CORALSERVER side, extensively tested by Atlas.
