LCG 57a
---
The LCG Configuration 57a has been released on Nov. 11. It contains an urgent bug fix for Coral -> new version 2.3.4 and an upgrade of cx_oracle which was built against the wrong oracle client library (new version 5.0.1).
LCG 56d
---
- The next release of the LCG 56 series is currently under preparation. We are waiting for Atlas developers to give green light on ROOT file optimizations. Some more fixed from Andrea shall also be put into the persistency projects.
Python 2.6
---
- The first nighties with Python 2.6 have been started. This is an early preview on how the sw stack would work with the next Python version. No python packages have been rebuilt so far in the external area, only python itself has been upgraded. The nighties slot is "dev3"
afs volumes
----
- All current "production" afs volumes have been replicated twice. This is a followup on an afs volume disappearing 1 week ago while afs itself was moving the volume to another server. With the duplicate replication we create physical redundancy, thus improve the reliability of the service.
Snow Leopard
---
- The LCG/AA software stack is currently moving to Mac OSX 10.6 snow leopard. The first task is to check which python version can be built on this platform. First tests have shown problems with version 2.5.4 (our current production version), so we might be forced to move to a later 2.6 version.

LHCb
---
- The hardcoded path in python is not fixed yet -> Action Stefan
- LHCb is using doxygen from the external area, it seems that LCG_Interface/doxygen appends to the PATH variable instead of prepending. (Note: checked after the meeting, the LCG_Interface package seems to do the right thing, i.e. prepending, maybe the problem is in another place?)
- LHCb will provide the information for quattor templates that are used on their lxbuild nodes.
CMS
---
- Re-fighting oracle selinux in connection with occi, which is not yet relocatable. Andrea will provide an official statement of the Persistency project where developers can have a look at the status and recommendations for the oracle client library.
Atlas
---
- Try to replicate contrib/CMT area. Still some problems left, this needs to be discussed with the relevant afs admins.
- Trying oxygen and graphviz from the external area. There are problems with graphviz 2.22.2, probably "dot" takes too much time, need to look into later version. -> graphviz upgrade -> Action Stefan
Root
---
- Building new ROOT release 5.25.04
Aob
===
- Propose common template for quattor for "cern recommended" quattor profile. This profile shall be provided to the Linux certification meeting, to enable a common "LHC developers" profile generically on lxbuild, lxplus, lxbatch.
